LAZY

I am so lazy! Ahh, I can hardly stand myself! I need to step away from the computer. Right after I post this. It's amazing how many craft, sewing, cooking, etc blogs that I can get sucked into. I become glued to the computer chair. But I need to post so I can keep my goal of once a week.
Update-
-I passed my glucose test, thankfully. I was starting to wonder how I was going to feed the sugar cravings!

-While at the drs office, I organized all of my pictures from when Grant was born until now. On the computer, that is. Now I have to decide how to scrapbook them.

-Grant will probably be in the process of potty-training for eternity. It's okay though. He still remains cute.
-Here's a picture of me pregnant. I really don't like pictures of myself. At all. But I am doing this because when Grant came so early, I realized I only had a couple of pictures of me pregnant, and strangely it made me sad. So now I have one. Me at 27.5 weeks. This was right before we went to buy a glider rocking chair, which by the way, ROCKS! haha. Seriously it's the most comfortable thing ever. I sit in it all the time now. I love it! Maybe I'll take a picture sometime.

-What's with the fog lately? Well it does make evenings out our back door look eerily beautiful. I attempted a picture. That's all for now. Now I must step away from the computer...

Take a Picture At Me

Grant has been requesting that I take pictures of him when he thinks he's doing something funny. He loves to look at pictures on the camera or watch home videos. So here are a few. A few tidbits
- I failed my 1 hr blood glucose test. I get to go back for the 3 hr fasting test next week. I'm really hoping to pass that one. But otherwise things are looking good with the pregnancy. No early-labor signs for me yet!

- My in-laws gave me Photoshop Elements 8 for Christmas. I haven't yet figured it out, but I'm going to soon. I really want nicer looking photos. We'll see. I am pretty lazy these days!

- We are attempting potty training (for Grant) starting tomorrow. So I'll be hibernating at home for a few days. Wish us luck!

Music

Grant has really been into music lately. He loves to lead when we are singing or playing the piano. He "sings" along during the hymns in church. He is really interested in learning about the piano and can find all the Cs and Ds. He loves watching me do theory with my piano students, especially when they clap and count notes. And he got this little violin from Grandma.

He can even hold it correctly now. It's fun to have him enjoy music, since that is something that Tyson and I both love!

Pork

I had two firsts this weekend related to pork. Interesting, I know.

Cafe Rio pork. Tyson took me to dinner on Saturday. We set a goal for 1 date a month and we've already had two this month! Anyway. We went to Cafe Rio because I've always heard so much about it and I'd never been. I ordered pork, because that's what everyone always raves about. And...it was delicious. The restaurant as a whole wasn't quite what I had expected, but my burrito was yummy. Next time I'll order a salad so I can try the famous dressing. Any other recommendations?

Pork chops. Albertsons has a great price for pork chops right now- $0.99/lb. I'm usually pretty boring- chicken and beef are my meat of choice. But I decided to try it after some encouragement from my sister-in-law, Brooke. Plus, I'm always looking for ways to save on the grocery budget. So for my first time serving pork, I cooked a couple of pork chops in olive oil and bbq sauce in a frying pan. I served it with twice-baked potatoes and brown sugar muffins. It was pretty good! I found a recipe for homemade pork and beans with cornbread here. I'll be trying that later this week using Sharee's amazing cornbread recipe. Yum, I can't wait! I went back to Albertsons and bought more pork chops, so I'm still looking for more ways to cook it.

Bad blogger

Wow, I've been bad at this whole blogging thing! I really need to catch up. And be consistent. It's just that I can't decide what my purpose for blogging is. To document our lives? To stay in touch with friends? To journal my feelings? To share recipes or get advice? Bah. I don't know. And so I don't post because I can never decide what is post-worthy. If it means anything, I have written in my journal twice as often as I post?
So here are some random pictures so I can have at least something on here!

Hamming it up Christmas morning. Seriously, I can't get him to smile normal for the camera. My cute sister and me. Not the greatest picture of me, but oh well. Grant making gingerbread houses with cousins and Grandma. Grant riding the horse at the Museum. Dad and boy building a snowman. We've sure been getting lots of snow! Well I'm going to try posting more consistently this year. My goal- once a week. And I just might post for any of the reasons listed above .
