Colds, Cows, and Crawling

This week has been full of runny noses and sleepless nights for all. Makes us grateful for good health! Grant is getting two more teeth on the bottom bringing the total number of teeth to 8. He's really been pretty good about it all! Today is much better.

We took Grant to see the cows the other day. He mostly just stared in wonder. Grant loves his binky from the hospital. He can fit most of it into his mouth, as you can see here. We have bought him new binkies, but he always manages to find this one.

Grant is crawling all over the place pulling himself up on everything, including the toilet, piano bench, couch, chairs, the legs of anyone standing close, etc.

And I am getting really nervous to leave him for two days next week. I am going to Women's Conference in Provo with my mom and some of my sisters, so I'm excited about that. But I have never been away from him longer than a few hours, so two nights might cause some separation anxienty! For me. He'll probably be happy to get away! I'm still nursing and he's not too excited about taking a bottle, so I am a little stressed about it. Any advice?

Grant's Tag

Grant's friend, Baby Q, tagged him, so here are a few things about Grant!

1. I just started sleeping through the night without eating! I still wake up a few times, but if I can't get myself back to sleep, Mom or Dad will come in and rub my back until I do. Sometimes I like to sleep on my belly with my bum sticking up. Other times I am squished up against the side of the crib. I move all over when I sleep which confuses Mom when she comes to get me!

2. I love to crawl now. I go everywhere, but mostly wherever Mom is. I like to follow her! She tried sweeping the kitchen but I kept chasing her and the pile she was making. I am really good at getting into things I'm not supposed to. I am drawn to them! Even if Mom puts lots of fun toys and books in front of me, I always go for the other good stuff!

3. I try to feed myself and I'm getting better. I don't like to be helped while I am trying. It's okay if someone puts food into my mouth, but you just can't help me with the food I am holding. I am learning to drink from a cup, which makes fun messes!

4. I love people! I am not shy and will let anyone hold me. I love having my grandmas, grandpas, aunts, and uncles close! They give me lots of attention, which I love! I smile and laugh at any person, even when it's just a picture.

5. I learned how to turn pages when Mom is reading me a book. I use my pointer finger, which I have out all the time.

6. I love playing peek-a-boo with Dad. He can make me laugh really hard. I'm always excited when he comes home from work!

I want to learn more about Lydia H., Hayden M., and Reagan C.!

House pictures

These are for you, Erin!
This is our front room. Not much on the walls yet! This is the view from the couch. Here's our bedroom.
This is the master bath. I am terrible at taking pictures, because this one just doesn't do it justice. There are two sinks on the vanity, which we love. Somehow we end up using the same sink sometimes!
The kitchen is my favorite part of the house! There's also a dining area, but I couldn't get a good picture of it. It is to the right of where this picture is taken. (Guess you'll just have to come visit to see it!)

Extra bedroom for computer, stereo, scrapbooking, etc.
Grant's bedroom! He is napping in his crib in this picture.
As you can see, I am not much of a decorator, but I'm working on it! We have almost all the boxed unpacked and now I can move on to the fun stuff. Our blinds came in last week so we have them up instead of blankets. :) We are settling in and really enjoying it!

He's Crawling!

Grant finally got crawling down this week! Now he can crawl and climb all over everything! Now that he's mobile, I have to keep a close eye on him because I know he'll be getting into mischief!

Grant pulled himself up to the couch and was wiggling around so much his pants fell down! Last week I went to get Grant up from a nap, and he was standing in his crib. I didn't get a picture then, but this was his nap later in the day. I knew it was time to lower the crib!
