Brazilian Lemonade

My friend Sharee got me started doing Bountiful Baskets last week and I love it! You get fresh produce once a week for a great price. Last week one of the fruits in the basket was key limes. I didn't know what to do with them and Sharee suggested Brazilian Lemonade. We made it tonight and tried it out with Tyson's family, and I'd say it was a success! It's a refreshing, slightly tart drink. We didn't have enough key limes to serve the whole family, so we bought some regular (Persian) limes at the store to supplement. Nothing was exact in our recipe, we just added until we thought it tasted good. Here's it is:

6 limes, quartered with ends cut off (we used 4 regular and 5 key limes)
3/4 - 1 cup sugar
6 Tbsp sweetened condensed milk
6-7 cups water

Blend the limes, sugar, milk and water until limes are chopped up. Pour through a wire/mesh strainer into a pitcher. Then pour 1-2 cups water over the strainer while it's still on the pitcher to get the rest of the juice and sugar. Remove the strainer and add about 1-2 cups chopped ice.
Serves 12

This didn't fit in the blender all at once, so we did half at a time.
I think the slushier the better, so next time I think I'd use less water and more ice.Yum!

I just tried that for the first time a few weeks ago and fell in LOVE with it! It's SO good!

I am so glad you liked my recommendation. We made some for our Sunday afternoon and used a similar recipe from online. Yeah for Bountiful baskets getting us to try new/old things.
