Crazy Storm!

Our birthday celebrating was interrupted by this storm! Here is a video from our front step, and it doesn't even do the storm justice. It was hailing and raining and blowing like crazy! Those poor trees we just planted- they were defenseless. And I am mourning my garden today. The corn, beans, cucumber, and zucchini had just come up and they are looking pretty sad now. What's with this weather?!

Camera??

I can't find my camera anywhere! Anyone seen it? Well until I find it, you get a boring post with no pictures. I just finished the book The Last Waltz. I bitterly hated the ending. I completely disagreed with the author's thoughts on love. I really didn't enjoy the book. I'm trying to figure out what the message was- has anyone else read it that has some insight? On the other hand, I also just reread A Heart Like His by Virginia H. Pearce. I enjoyed that one.

This morning I left the sprinkler on in the garden for WAY too long and completely flooded it. I had just gotten after Grant for something and while we were talking about it (he's crying and I'm explaining), he asked about the sprinklers. Oops. So then I couldn't be mad at him because he saved the day. Knowing me, I wouldn't have remembered til tonight!
Anyway. Hope you are all having a good day. Following Brooke's example, I better list some things that I'm grateful for to help get me out of this mood.

1. Little boys' imaginations
2. Poppyseed dressing
3. Nap time
4. Prayer
5. Good friends

Hey it works! :)

Edited: I just read a bunch of positive reviews on this book by well-read people. Maybe I was ignorant?

Graduating and Catch-up

I have been such a slacker lately!! But here are some of the latest happenings. Lots of posts to follow!

My CUTE little sister graduated from BYU-Idaho. Congratulations Linds! Now she's on to grad school at my favorite university: USU!

"Dus and Macuum?"

Grant's favorite activity:

He LOVES it when I tell him it's time to dust and vacuum. This kid could vacuum all day!

Backlogged: Easter

This is ridiculously late, but I wanted these pictures for myself. So I apologize for posting so long after the fact. Lots of pictures to follow:
My sister and family came for a week around Easter. I helped my cute nieces make these: (Idea from Make It and Love It)

Saturday before Easter:
I got the idea to have Grant color his eggs with markers from a lady drawing my blood the day before (seriously) and it turned out great!

Messy hands

Can you guess which eggs Tyson colored?
Grant loved hunting for Easter eggs. But we had a hard time getting him to put them in the basket. He just wanted to open them and eat the candy inside- duh! His mouth was stuffed full by the time his final treat- a box of animal crackers. Simple pleasures.

Gumdrop Pillow

We made these cute pillows for our ward's sewing group. They were really easy to make and turned out so cute!

This little boy thinks the pillow is his toy. He loves to roll it, bounce on it, and do somersaults off it. With a smile like that, how do I resist?

Sister's Vacation

Right before Mother's Day, all my sisters and my mom got together for a weekend. We had so much fun together! I really can't remember the last time I laughed that often or that hard. We have all sorts of inside jokes now. We did LOTS of shopping at three different malls, and I had a shopping breakthrough. When I have a budget of what I can spend, and it is in cash, then I am motivated to spend it! I know I am backwards from most girls, but I just really don't like shopping. But we did plenty of it, I spent most of my money, and it was fun to shop with my sisters! We also hiked Ensign Peak, visited Aunt Ginny's grave site, went to the pioneer museum, went to the temple, met up with some aunts and cousins for dinner at The Mandarin (yum!) , went to Nielsen's Custard twice (YUM!!) and spent many hours laughing our heads off! Thanks Brooke for driving us everywhere! All seven of us were packed in a minivan and it must have been quite the sight to watch all of us spilling out of the doors. Unfortunately, we didn't take very many pictures, so I only have a few to share.
This is the view from Ensign Peak- beautiful!
