Car Seat Blanket

This is one of my last projects I wanted to get done before the baby comes. It's a blanket that you can use in the car seat when it's cold to keep the baby wrapped up. I saw some similar ones floating around on various blogs and etsy and decided to try my own. I wanted to get a new car seat that was girly, but that was a no-go, so this was my solution. My mom helped me figure out sizing and then I just free-handed a shape on newspapers taped together. One side is fleece and the other is cotton. Simple enough- cut out, sew together, turn, topstitch, then lots of measuring to figure out where to make the slits. It was a fun project though. Grant was a very willing model! He LOVES being a baby. He's been watching me sew all this girl stuff, I need to make him something now!

What we've been doing

Yesterday was so nice outside. Grant drew with chalk until there was no chalk left to draw with. He loves loves being outside! This picture does not do justice to the mess he was- food all over his face, markers on his hands and chalk everywhere. But he was happy! The other day Tyson was teaching Grant how to throw a frisbee. The last picture cracks me up. He twists so far back when he throws that the frisbee ends up behind him.It was funny! But he can pretty much throw better than me. Tyson tried to coach me, but I just don't have a lot of natural talent!

Here ya go Erin. This is me just over 35 weeks. (Although I don't remember seeing any prego pictures of you?!) I am now expanding by the minute and I consume everything in sight. I do not remember being this hungry when I was pregnant with Grant! I'm 36 weeks and hoping to make at least 2 more weeks. Who knows, I might end up going over 2 weeks!

I just have to say that I love these two!

Warm Weather

I love/hate Idaho springtime. We're all so cooped up from the winter gloom that we go out and about when it "warms" up to over 40 degrees. We've been doing our share of enjoying the sun rays! It's a bit chilly, but Grant is just so excited to be outside! Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I really appreciated the advice, suggestions and encouragement from friends. I am feeling a little better this week about it all. Grant has been sleeping through the night- I on the other hand, spend most nights on the couch. But I'll sleep better once the baby comes, right? Ha! Actually I'm feeling great and enjoying these "extra" weeks of pregnancy.
